Emergency Planning

Emergencies and natural disasters can happen at any time, and with the effects of climate change, they’re becoming more and more frequent. These events can significantly affect you, your family, your business, and your wider community.

To reduce your risk, SafeWay Risk Management recommends having a well-prepared emergency plan. A clear plan will reduce stress during an emergency and help you recover more quickly afterward.

You need to plan for floods, earthquakes and all natural disasters.

How Can SafeWay Help?

We can support you to develop a customised emergency plan and guide you through every step of the process.

Drawing on real emergency response experience and using Civil Defence and New Zealand Government planning guidelines, we tailor each plan to your specific needs.

  1. Home Plan
It's important your whānau knows what to do when an emergency happens. A good plan reduces stress and ensures you all have what you need to get through safely.
  2. Workplace Plan
We'll help you identify workplace risks—such as natural hazards, health emergencies, and utility failures—and create a plan tailored to your business.
  3. School Plan
We'll support you in preparing plans to keep tamariki and staff safe and confident during an emergency.
  4. Marāe Plan
We'll work alongside you to develop emergency plans that respect and integrate your tikanga and community structure.
  5. Community Plan
We'll assist your local community or rural group to create coordinated response plans that enhance safety and resilience for everyone.
